The Won Institute of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce the appointment of Carol A. Goldman, DACM, NCCAOM Diplomate, L. Ac., MS, as Director of the Chinese Medicine Herbal Certificate Program (CCHM). Dr. Goldman has served as Clinic and Herbal Supervisor and Associate Professor on faculty at the Won Institute.

In her new role as program director, Dr. Goldman will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the CCHM program, including curriculum development, student advising, and program assessment. She will also continue to teach in the program and supervise student interns in the Won Institute Clinic. Dr. Goldman left the world of high finance, as Director of Taxation for a large national corporation, to obtain her Doctorate in Acupuncture/Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Health Science. Past work experience includes Pacific College of Oriental Medicine NY, in the school clinic treating Acupuncture and Herbs and where she served as the Academic Advisor for the Transitional Doctorate Program.

Dr. Goldman is thrilled at the opportunity to further the vision of WON, to coalesce all that WON has founded, through coalition building and kindling relationships with the greater Chinese Herbal Community. Her vision for the program is to expand the program and make it more accessible to potential practitioners, provide more Chinese herbal options (I.e liniments, foot soaks, and ointments) for patients in the community, offer more CEU courses/training, and connect with alumni more on social media.

The CCHM program at the Won Institute is a unique program that combines Western biomedical sciences with traditional East Asian medicine theories and practices. The program trains students to become competent practitioners of Chinese herbal medicine, able to integrate their knowledge into a clinical setting. Students who complete the program are eligible to sit for the NCCAOM Chinese Herbology board certification exam.

The program is designed for working acupuncture professionals who are interested in pursuing a career in Chinese herbal medicine. Learn more about the Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine program.
