Acupuncture & Wellness Center – Poulsbo, WA

The Acupuncturist Residency is a full-time residency position at the Acupuncture & Wellness Center in Poulsbo, Washington, one of the largest Traditional Chinese Medical clinics in the United States. This role is designed as a structured residency where licensed acupuncturists gain unparalleled hands-on experience in a high-volume clinical setting while learning directly under Robert (Bob) Doane, AEMP, L. Ac., the internationally recognized creator of Medical Pulse Diagnosis® (MPD®) and Distal Needling Acupuncture® (DNA®).

Residents will have the opportunity to:

  • Train extensively in MPD® and DNA®, two highly effective systems that have transformed the way Chinese medicine is practiced and taught.
  • Treat patients daily using DNA® while building confidence and skill in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinic that serves hundreds of patients each week.
  • Learn side-by-side with Bob during patient MPD® consultations, gaining one of the most valuable skills for future clinical practice.

This residency is more than a job, it’s a mentorship and an opportunity to become a highly skilled Chinese Medical Practitioner. Bob has trained a multitude of acupuncturists worldwide, has authored the definitive textbook on MPD®, and continues to lecture and teach internationally. At the Acupuncture & Wellness Center, residents are expected to treat exclusively with MPD® and DNA® following training, ensuring clinical excellence and consistency of care.

Education and Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Acupuncture
  • Licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Washington
  • NCCAOM Certified

Primary Job Duties

  • Treat patients using Distal Needling Acupuncture® after training and protocols are provided.
  • Sit in on consultations with Bob to learn Medical Pulse Diagnosis® in real time.
  • Perform health history evaluations and patient intake assessments.
  • Pull and remove acupuncture needles in accordance with clinic standards.
  • Participate in weekend events with Bob to gain hands-on training and deepen proficiency in Medical Pulse Diagnosis®.
  • Document patient progress and treatment details accurately.
  • Provide warm, attentive, and compassionate patient care throughout the treatment process.
  • Uphold all clinic standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and patient safety.

  • $50,000 per year

FLSA and Employment Status

Employment Type: Exempt
Schedule: Full-time 9 AM – 5 PM (Tuesday-Friday, 1 weekend day)
