Living Well, Dying Well is an innovative and transformative course designed to guide individuals towards a meaningful, balanced, and peaceful life and death. This course delves into the heart of what it means to live fully and die with grace, drawing on the rich traditions of Won Buddhism, a modern form of Buddhism that emphasizes practicality, simplicity, and the integration of Buddhist principles into daily life. Throughout this course, participants will embark on a journey that combines theoretical knowledge with practical exercises, meditation practices, and reflective discussions. The curriculum is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of the core beliefs of Won Buddhism, including the importance of mindfulness, compassion, and the interconnectedness of all beings, and how these principles can be applied to enhance our lives and prepare us for the transition of dying.

The course covers the following themes:
Ethical Living and Compassion: Examine the ethical teachings of Won Buddhism, focusing on the practice of compassion towards oneself and others. Discuss how ethical living can lead to a more fulfilling life and a peaceful death.
Interconnectedness and Community: Discover the importance of community and interconnectedness. Participate in group discussions and activities that foster a sense of belonging and support, essential for living well and dying well.
Preparing for Death: Explore the concept of death in Won Buddhism and other contemplative practices. Learn about the art of dying well, including practical preparations and spiritual practices that can ease the transition and bring peace to both the dying and their loved ones.
Integrative Practices: Learn how to apply mindfulness, meditation, and ethical principles to everyday situations, enhancing well-being and preparing for a graceful transition at life’s end.
This course is suitable for anyone interested in exploring the spiritual and practical aspects of living and dying. Whether you are new to Buddhist teachings or seeking to deepen your understanding, this course offers valuable insights and tools to enrich your journey through life and beyond. Join us as we explore how to live well and die well, guided by the wisdom of contemplative practices.
