Go To Them: Meeting The Health Care Needs Of Veterans
About the Program
By bringing acupuncture, meditation, and Tai Chi services to existing locations that serve veterans in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area Go to Them will:
- Expand the number of treatments to veterans by 150%. That’s more than 800 treatments.
- Inform veterans of the benefits of acupuncture and meditation on health and well-being.
- Provide practitioners with the skills to better serve veterans in their own practices.
Why this program is essential:
The need to treat symptoms of PTSD, depression, addiction, and other health concerns is high, but access to services is a barrier. Combining health care services in locations that already serve veterans is one less barrier on the road to health and well-being.
How this program will work:
Acupuncture and alternative medicine has a proven history of easing and abating symptoms of PTSD; assisting in recovery efforts; eliminating pain; and providing both physical and mental relief from stress.
All treatments are supervised by a nationally certified and Pennsylvania licensed acupuncturist with several years of both teaching and clinical experience. Veterans have the option of utilizing meditation techniques and Tai Chi for stress reduction that are supervised by instructors with training and sensitivity on how to teach and conduct meditation to those with addictions and mental health needs.

I felt such a sense of gratitude that I could offer him some relief from pain that he had carried with him for so long. It’s such a deep honor to be able to give back to the men and women who’ve given so much.
