Glenside, PA is a suburb of Philadelphia – only 5 minutes from the Mt. Airy and Chestnut Hill neighborhoods of the city and about 20 minutes from center city Philadelphia. It houses numerous restaurants, pubs, and a notable music venue – the Keswick Theater.
Bokin Kim is the president of the Won Institute of Graduate Studies. Dr. Kim is an ordained Won Buddhist minister and one of the founding members of the Won Buddhist Temple in of Philadelphia. Won Buddhism is a reformed Buddhist sect founded 100 years ago in Korea with thirty temples in the United States. She is an expert on Won Buddhism and author of Concerns and Issues in Won Buddhism, which is one of the few books that provides an extensive overview of Won Buddhism for an English-speaking audience.

The Dharma Chaplain’s role is to support the well-being of individual students, staff, faculty and the Won Institute community as a whole through pastoral care, such as: informal guidance, advising, supportive counseling, spiritual cultivation, and counseling referral services. The Dharma chaplain is working to embody the Institute’s mission and core values by strengthening ties to the Institute’s roots, namely Won Buddhism.
